I’ve stayed in plenty of hostels, and from talking to other travelers this place is as good as you’ll get in Havana. It’s small but comfortable. I traveled solo and would say this place is great for meeting people! It’s close to the Malecon, not a bad 30 min walk to the city center. It’s not overly nice, but again it’s on or above par for the city and especially for the price. Enjoy!
Ania and Amarilis (and the nice gentleman at the reception whos name I forgot) are very kind people! They made sure we had a perfect stay in their place
Rooms are clean, and also get cleaned every day!
Cuba is known for its casas particulares and, while it’s an amazing option to meet Cuban people, sometimes you just want to meet other travellers. And Hostal Casa de Ania is a great place for that. It’s a bit cramped, maybe, and it could use more toilets and showers, but it still rocks. You’ll find the typical dorms with lockers and a common area. Beer is sold here, so even those who don’t want to go out can still enjoy some quality social time. The breakfast selection is impressive, to say the least. The commentaries left on the walls by guests are quite entertaining as well. And Amarilis is such a sweet woman, you have to meet her.
There are places that make you feel at home, places that have a heart and soul; Casa de Ania is such a place.
Casa de Ania welcomes you and your family to Cuba, especially to the Villa de San Cristóbal de la Habana. Founded in 1515 by the Spanish conqueror Diego Velázquez de Cuellar, the city is home to over 2 million inhabitants and boasts a historic quarter made rich by both its architectural diversity and it’s wide spectrum of urban styles. The presence of these two elements alone grants the city a unique presence and distinctive appeal that sets it apart from other Caribbean destinations.
Over the last ten years we have been a home away from home for tourists, students and backpackers alike who wish to experience all that Cuba has to offer, a place full of energy that also maintains your safety and security as one of our top priorities. You can rest assured that our variety of services and knowledge of the city will make your stay unforgettable.
